Our position
We respect copyright, and we expect the same.
BuzzerReady lets people write and import their own questions and study material. We do not review that material before it appears, and we do not know where it came from. If something on BuzzerReady infringes your copyright, tell us and we will remove it.
Scripture in BuzzerReady is the King James Version, which is in the public domain. Our own questions and study aids are ours or are licensed to us.
If you own the copyright — how to tell us
Send a written notice to our designated agent:

For us to act, the law requires your notice to include all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature, as the owner of the copyright or someone authorized to act for them.
- Identification of the work you say has been infringed. If there are several, a representative list is fine.
- Identification of the material on BuzzerReady you want removed, with enough detail for us to find it — the question, the page, the account, the study document.
- How to reach you — address, telephone number, and email.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for them.
Please be accurate. Under 17 U.S.C. §512(f), someone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing can be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees.
What we do when we receive one
- We review it for the elements above. If something is missing, we come back to you rather than ignore it.
- We remove or disable access to the material, promptly.
- We tell the person who posted it, and give them a copy of your notice.
- We tell them they may send a counter notice.
If your material was removed — how to respond
If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, send a counter notice to the same agent, containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material and where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district where you live — or, if you are outside the United States, for the Northern District of Georgia — and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.
We forward your counter notice to them. If they do not file a court action within 10 to 14 business days, we may restore the material.
Repeat infringers
We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe copyright. We decide what counts as repeated in the circumstances, and we keep a record of notices received and actions taken.
We may also remove material, or suspend or close an account, in any circumstance where we believe copyright is being infringed — including where the material was bulk-imported from a league's official question set or study material without permission.
A word to coaches and question writers
Most copyright trouble on a product like this is honest. A league's official question set is generally the league's property, and typing it into BuzzerReady to practice with your team is not automatically permitted just because you paid for the book.
- Write your own questions, or use ours.
- If you import something, be sure you have the right to — see Terms of Service section 8, where you promise us exactly that.
- If a league gives you written permission, keep it.
If you are not sure, ask the league. It is a short email, and it is much cheaper than the alternative.
